Take The Hit – Final Edit

This is out final edit. We have named it take this hit because we feel that it relates to our genre and also our video, because of the actor getting hit by a car at the end.

Shot list

Below is a list of the shots we will when we film our opening. It is important to plan these things because we want to have a clear idea of what we are doing, also we have time to think about what were are doing before we rush into things and make mistakes or film shots that we don’t need and that would be valuable time wasted.

Casting Shots

For our actor and actress, we wanted to pick a boy and a girl that are about the same age, we wanted them to be about 17-18. We also wanted them to fit the modern representation for male or female. We wanted them to be modern teenagers, and look like they are living in the 2017 world.

In the opening we have decided to only have 2 onscreen actors in it, so here is a overview of them.

Below we have our actor – Enrique Chaves Peon Berle – 17 year old from Mexico

Enrique is a AS level drama student at Gordonstoun, he is at the same school as everyone in the group and is a good friend of mine, he is also in the same boarding house as me and Will so he was easy and convenient to use.

Holds a typical representation of society’s typical male as shown in his great fashion sense and cool, attractive style. This is key in a rom com because normally romantic comedies have actors that are well presented and he is. This is something we desire as we want the Rom Com to closely link with 2017 and todays styles and fashion.

Also he is a funny guy, this is needed in a romantic comedy, because with a rom com there needs to be funny parts and also serious and romantic parts.

He also takes AS level drama studies, so this helps, because we wanted someone that has a good level of acting and he defiantly has that. He has had more than enough experience with acting as well, performing in school productions and productions at his old school.

Below we have our actress – Esme Edwards – 17 years old – UK

Esme A level Drama Student who achieved an A* grade in last years performances and is Guardian of Gordonstoun School which shows her commitment and dedication towards the school and also the drama department in particular.

She fits the role in a rom com very well because she is smiley, pretty and looks good wearing red lip stick, because red is associated with love, this helps link to the genre. She has natural beauty and thats what we want, we don’t want someone that wears a lot of make up because then the audience will get the “wow” factor.

Also Esme is in the same boarding house as Jade (another member of our group) so Esme was always able to film, and easily reached when needed to film. She also enjoyed being filmed so put in a lot of effort, this makes the directors job a lot easier because once Esme got the feel of what she needed to do, then the director didn’t have to keep nagging her.

The whole group was involved in choosing the actors. I wrote this overview of the actor and actresses.

Evaluation 8

This is my audience feedback. This is important to me because if I want to produce films in the future I know what I can do to improve. This also gave me a chance to get my audience involved in the evaluating part of the film opening.

Here is a video of what 2 of my audience thought about the film opening.

I got feedback from a range of people, from different back rounds, different Nationalities and also different ages. This helps when I review my choices about my target audience.

Overall i though the feedback was good, of course people have there personal opinion, and different people like and dislike different things.

Evaluation 5

This ident shows who we are, this will give the audience a first impression of us, this could come in handly in the future.

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.15.34.png

This will also give the audience the first impression of the actor, it shows the actor is in a rush from the start. This also helps the audience relate to the scene which gives them a better idea of what is going on and makes the narrative clear.

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.15.53.png

This is the first shot of the actress. We see her wake up relaxed because she isn’t late, whereasThe first impression that we got from actor is that he is unorganized. The audience Will be able to relate to do this because a male stereotype is different from a females. The stereotype for men is unorganised an lazy whereas stereotype of females is organised and on time and not lazy.

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.16.31.png

This shot is of our actor running through the bathroom while the floor is wet this may make the audience laugh with four bring the comedy side of the filming. This could be funny for the audience because they will be able to relate to the fact that it’s a boy not listening to the rules, most people will be able to say that they know someone that does something stupid.

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.17.26.pngScreen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.17.41.png

The two shots above, matches what boys and girls do in the morning. This is all part of teenagers life, they want to keep there looks to the best they can be. This helps reinforce the Romantic side of the film, because teenagers think to be romantic with either girls or boys they need to look there best. The audience will be able to relate to this a lot.

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.17.59.png

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.18.24.pngAgain the two shots above clearly simular, because they are both leaving there home, but the fact of the actor being late is still in place, he is running and in a rush, whereas the actress is walking calmly. This is very relatable for the audience because of the relaxed actress and the not relaxed actor.

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 19.18.36.png

This shot allows the audience to think about whats going to happen. Also this may bring in the comedy side of the film because the audience will think how stupid he is. Also the audience won’t think its the actress in the car, this will make the audience shocked.
